Nine Western office looks in the colour of the day, from blazers to trousers, for Navratri at work.
If your office runs Navratri colour days, you already know the Monday morning panic: it is the grey day, and you own nothing grey. If your office does not, you may still want to join in quietly. Either way, the challenge is the same. You need to look festive and still fit a work dress code.
This guide gives you a simple rule and nine workday looks.
The one-colour-piece rule
For Navratri at work, wear the day's colour in one strong piece, such as a blazer, trousers,s or a shirt, and keep the rest neutral. It reads festive without breaking a formal dress code.
The most common mistake is going head to toe in the colour. It rarely looks good in an office, and it makes you buy nine full outfits. One coloured piece plus neutrals is smarter, cheaper,r and looks more polished.

If your office has no colour day
You can still join in quietly. A scarf, a bag, or a small piece of jewellery in the day's colour is enough. Nobody needs to notice, and you still get the fun of it. If you are not comfortable dressing differently at work, that is completely fine too.
Being comfortable for a nine-hour day
A full workday is long, and the outfit has to hold up from the morning commute to the evening meeting. Choose fabrics that do not crease badly. Wear shoes you can stand in. Keep a spare layer at your desk, because office air conditioning is unpredictable.
